The Ramayana

For all those who expressed interest in being in Theatre Onset and In Theatre’s next production, The Ramayana, please come to the Mumbulla School Hall at 37 Bega St Bega on Thursday 5th Feb (this week) from 4-6pm and/or next Tuesday 10th Feb from 4-7pm and sign up (you can come to both days).
For those who haven’t already expressed interest and would like to know more, The Ramayana is an Indian epic which we will perform with great music, great dancing and great acting. In Theatre is Theatre Onset’s youth arm and this play is for High School aged students – from all High Schools and home schoolers.
At out two meetings, we will read through some parts of the play, talk about others, play some games and generally get the ball rolling. It is kind of like an audition but more for me to meet you so I know what you can do. If you can’t make it on either of those two days, please get in touch by email (davidstocker50@gmail.com) or by mobile 0448 248 322.
Performance dates are in early May so before you come, make sure you are able to be there and preferably that you have some time during the April holidays! Rehearsals will be after school in Bega (prob Tues and Thursdays) and some weekends. Apologies to those who have already spoken to me about being in The Ramayana – my email and computer have been out of action for over a month and I haven’t been able to access my lists so I have not been able to send you a direct invitation! I hope you see this and you come on tues and/or thurs.
Any questions or for more info, please get in touch,

Theatre Onset/In Theatre 2015 production: The Ramayana

Theatre Onset and In Theatre are calling for expressions of interest from anyone wanting to be involved in a stage production of the Indian epic, the Ramayana, in Term 2015.  We are looking for predominantly High School aged students of the Bega Valley (or beyond) to be actors, musicians and/or dancers. A big cast is needed for a big story involving good and evil, brave and heroic deeds, and magic.  Over the December and January holidays, the story will be rewritten and perhaps modernised – if anyone is interested in being part of this process, please get in touch with Mahamati NOW.  If you would like to be involved as actor, musician, dancer or in any part of the production (sets, costumes, lighting, sound, front of house, publicity, stage crew) please let me know soon (I will put out another call in mid to late January).  Rehearsals will start at the beginning of Term 1 and continue till performances in Week 2 and 3 of Term 2.Demons_1

We will also be having a reading of Orson Welles’ radio play, The War of the Worlds on Sunday 2nd November at 2pm, also at Becky and Jamie’s house in Bega.  This is in preparation for a forecast performance of said radio play in mid December this year.  Please come if you would like to read the play, or if you would like to be in it or do live sound effects for it.  If you can’t make the reading but would like to be involved, please get in touch with Becky on 6492 4928 or by replying to this email.
That’s it for the moment.  Thank you to everyone who came to see Steel Magnolias and gave us such good feedback.  We’re glad you enjoyed the production!  Stay tuned for more great theatre from Theatre Onset.
